In June I was thrilled to be invited to do some judging for the Guild of Fine Food this time as co-ordinating judge. Many thousands of products arrive to the Guild to be judged each year and the judging of the ones already awarded 3 stars by the judges in order to find the very few ‘Golden Fork’ award winners is particularly enjoyable. All the products are tasted blindly and I was particularly thrilled to see a Galotyri (something between cheese and yogurt) reach the final stages of judging. My fellow judges and I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to find out whose that product is and if we can buy it in the UK. It is fairly rare and always a thrill to come across a 3 star product (the whole room needs to decide it is 3 star worthy) and hear the bell chime the achievement!
